Yes and no. Different circumstances. PNV became subjected to a well publicised short campaign lead by Phil King at Regal Funds Management. At least he actually announced back in around Nov 19 that they were shorting PNV. He felt that the price had well overshot fair value for a pre-profit start-up biotech. PNV was priced to perfection it is true. What ensued was a massive tussle between the longs and shorts with COVID-19 thrown in for good measure. The company put out good FY results and has followed up with good results (turned profitable) but as you can see from the right hand side of the diamond the shorters were still beating the price down and accumulating no doubt. Once the short squeeze was on, boom the price has taken off again.

The similarities with WZR if we compare the two diamonds is that they occured when the companies were in start-up pre-profit phase; became market favourites and attracted a lot of trader interest; probably ran up too hard; became subjected to a battle between the longs and shorts (company going to punch the lights out, heading to $1b market cap versus company is all hot air and worthless cash burner).

I don't know if the WZR chart will follow the PNV chart trajectory but if WZR demonstrates that it is on a profitable upward trajectory and shake off the doubters it will rerate. News will drive the rerate.

PNV may have run too hard too quick for my liking. I took some profits but I might have been too early too!
