That has been the goal for many years in the same way it has been for the US successfully. However this in itself is not the same as isolationism as a policy rather a natural economic progression if u have a huge domestic pop. What is remarkable is just how quickly it is getting there. China has 1.4 billion people getting wealthier every year with an insatiable appetite for imported quality goods. They still want their iphones and Tesla cars and they still want premium western formulae, expensive beauty products, fashion, luxury wines etc and commodities. The only thing to stop that demand would be Gvt action and that I just do not c this coming as it would be hugely unpopular with high ranking people and the middle class.
