All fair points and I agree that smarter people at GM may have thought about this course and said no. I agree there are other complexities involved rather than dollars and cents (tax, FIRB etc).
But to entertain the point a little further, why can't GM simply become a substantial or majority holder and leave the business as is. Plenty of take overs are on this basis and would allow CXZ to remain "nimble".
Secondly, with respect to your analogy of your business, do GM on-sell CXZ's product at a marked up price? I hadn't realised this so apologies if I missed this.
