My understanding is that the trial was ended as it has no (little) chance of reaching the 43% number. At this point we have no idea what number was reached and won’t know until the trial is unblinded.

As for Novartis they appear to be placing importance on the Covid ARDS trial given they have asked for and been given a 90 day extension by MSB. My guess is if the trial just missed its endpoint they may continue with the deal, but if the trial shows little benefit in ARDS they will walk.

Of course all of this is pure speculation since MSB can’t even be bothered to tell us they have granted Novartis an extension - after all why should the shareholders worry their little heads about price sensitive information like this. Just trust in SI and all will be fine seems to be the MSB mantra.
