A deep drill went through gold at something like 10kg/t, it was thought a new vein had been discovered but when they drilled again it couldn't be found. Price soared on the initial news and fell away on the subsequent drill result. (I think we have tried again a year ago but that drill had to be stopped for a reason I can't remember).
The gold price went off the boil and Mt Thirsty Cobalt/Nickel or vis versa exploration and studies became the company focus. Cobalt demand exceeded supply for a little while pushing the price up to around US$90,000 per ton or a bit higher. BAR price was around 12 cents on the Cobalt news and fell away after the Congo again provide supply so the SP fell and fell further on release of the Scoping Study. The PFS didn't push the SP up as the Cobalt price was and is suppressed.
There are other factors offcourse but to me these are relevant ones.
