"(taxes and royalties - and we will always get the taxes and royalties no matter who owns the companies.

People appear to object to foreigners buying our resources and too cheap, but we have no problem with the BHP's and RIO's doing the same thing in other countries)"

    Sharks37,

As far as your first paragraph re-taxes and royalties, I go as far as saying "Royalties maybe yes, but as far as taxes I wouldn't be too sure about that"

And, as for we have no problems with the BHP and RIO's buying thing in other Countries, you should have read my post properly.

I said that, if they let us buy into their own Countries, the same goes for us, but if they don't (the same as for some Communist regimes), we shouldn't let them either.
Look at what has been happening with BP and their investments in Russia. They have gone sour.
They (BP)are 50/50 in a JV with an oil company and they are copping it severely. As a matter of fact, the top Managment person of BP there had to leave the country, I believe.

Look at what is happenening in Venezuela for God's sake. if that is an example to take.

I have one question for you sharks:

Does China let us buy anything in their own Country, lock stock and barrell??
Here lyes your answer my friend. You can't just look at the short term benefit for someone, including the shareholders. YOU HAVE TO LOOK AT THE LONG TERM BENEFIT FOR SHAREHOLDERS AND EVERYONE ELSE, LOL.

What was wrong with our Government funding these short term problems the miners are facing, just the same as they did with the Financial Institution, lol.

Instead of (and I know I may cop some flack here), giving this so called bonuses to everyone, whom if they are not banking it, most of it will only buy some cheap things manufactured overseas, and the benefit goes back to some Asian Country, why don't they put that money towards encouraging the economy in other ways, one of them being the supporting of our mining industry?? The employment would start moving again then.

But, as they say: "To each his own".

    Good luck.............Buddy
