Here's is his apology. Not much contrition in his wording.

Kevin Rudd has apologised for verbally abusing a flight attendant on a Royal Australian Air Force flight earlier this year when the Prime Minister was not served the meal he wanted.

It has been reported in News Limited newspapers that Mr Rudd reduced the 23-year-old flight attendant to tears on the flight from Port Moresby to Australia in January.

But during a press conference at the G20 summit in London overnight Mr Rudd did his best to play down the situation and he apologised.

"I had a discussion with, I think, one of the attendants on the provision of food. It didn't last very long and if anyone was offended by that, including the attendant concerned, of course, I apologise," he said.

"Prime ministers make mistakes. I'm sure I've made mistakes, that'd be one of them. If people have been offended I apologise for it.

"As I said at the time to one of the staff on the plane, that's it. We're all human, we all make mistakes, your prime minister included."
