Thanks for the clarification on the options being issued to US-based employees and consultants.
Quick googling shows that under US tax treatment, tax could be minimised when exercising early and/or at point where one feels the share price is a minima before the exit.
Generally any gain at point of exercise is taxed under the higher income tax rate. Any gain after exercise at point of sale is taxed at the lower capital gains tax.
Hmmm... my read is bullish if options are being exercised by US-based option-holders.
