This is just an old class war revisited. There are hundreds of private schools in Australia and most of the parents pay tax, so why should their children be treated any differently than public school children. Many parents of private school kids aren't wealthy but work and save hard to give their kids an education that they think is important.
What's important? Well, it might be a single sex school, it might be better discipline, it might be a religious education incorporated into the school curriculum. Any number of reasons other than elitism and snobbery, don't judge and allow our children to be treated fairly and alike.
