Well, it looks like one big bank is racing to outsource as much as they can to external data centres (multiple providers for backup and redundancy apparently), and that one bank I know of might be planning to eventually move all of it externally, if they can. It seems an issue might be sensitive customer and account data, but if the systems and processes are external, I suspect accessing this from in house servers might not be too taxing, and not need as much management.
Has anybody else has received similar general views from contacts that have been working in banks?
