The type of device being developed by Brainchip and partners is for Volatile Organic Compound detection. If you have for example diabetes, gastric cancer, Covid-19, seasonal influenza and the like VOC’s which are always in your exhaled breath will present in patterns unique to the particular disease.

AKIDA technology recognises patterns and will take the data collected by the partners sensor, and compare it against stored patterns in its neuromorphic library and provide a diagnosis.

As we have heard a singular property of AKIDA technology which allows it to stand head and shoulders above any competitors chip is its capacity to be trained with new information thus as new patterns/profiles of existing or new disease are discovered they can be added.

While I am sure everyone is aware that we are entering a new era for risk of pandemics the following is an interesting article which highlights the beneficial value that an AERO device for VOC detection will give to humanity in the future.

It is not all about Covid-19.
