Agree the economics debate has been manipulated around reliance on the TLS controlled copper.
Is not so much TLS dominance being removed, more it will just be replaced.
TLS will retain considerable control over their copper horse and cart, or the railway line, however as this new automobile arrives it will replace TLS's copper horse and cart with something more attractive more efficient.
Some will still ride the TLS copper horse and cart, however most will switch to the new carriages - wireless or fibre.
Look at what TLS doing, working away to be ready to provide its own new carriages, just like SingTel Optus and all others in for the long haul.
Perhaps soon TLS will let us connect to their new carriage parked <=1km away.
