Just to throw this out there in my experience you can't run VOIP on the nextG wireless network, the quality is abysmal as the latency is really bad (it uses mobile towers so traffic affects it horribly), if IF could get it to work here it'd be very unreliable. I have tried personally when thought was super smart and found it doesn't, hence why later found no one is offering these type of wireless + voip net plans (that I have seen anyways). Happy if someone HAS got it to work, let me know haha.

That said, dsl for voip still runs on copper which has distance limitations from exchanges, I think if your chasing speed Fibre optic is the only way to deliver solid, reliable net plus allow for VOIP to be used, not to mention streaming media\television the whole works.

I believe what Rudd is looking for is to replace the copper network completely over time with one line services multiple businesses, throwing it out there like this he is saying well the NBN idea didnt work, how about we'll own it and pay you guys to build it, kinda olive branching after last years debacle IMO.
