QBE’s chief financial officer Inder Singh said the insurer would likely increase its reinsurance cover in the new year, as there had been elevated levels of catastrophic weather claims over the past five years. “We’re taking a realistic approach to this in our planning for next year,” he said. “But we’re not at year-end ... We’re seeing some storm activity here in Australia as we speak.” He has informed that his focus is to get the share price back to $15.
