Some skin in the game, albeit small, tends to focus one's efforts to fully understand a company.

ALL IMO

Agreed, nothing like some skin to get one focussed on a stock.
Recently dabbled in one for about 6-7 weeks and didn't like what I read and so jumped out again

I do hold one dog stock that I have had for 5 years. Haven't sold a share.
Management keep saying this is the year!
Hence, management is my number 1 criteria
However, the story and result will be worth the wait, despite the opportunity cost.
That failure lead me to my research and my spec stock strategy and ultimately to my quaddie.
I keep it to remind me of the pain I do not want to experience again.
