imo, rudd went for the big media splash.."i have vision"..so he could kick the whole thing far enough down the road so it won't be an issue next election
the original tender, FTTN, had a price tag of 15 billion
this one, FTTH(rolls royce...lol!)supposed to cost 43billion
so, in very simple terms, that's an extra 28 billion to string fibre the last few hundred yards to residences in larger cities...nothing for country folk
the whole thing has an air or surreality to it, which is rudd's forte...aside from splashing cash and blowing big black holes in the federal budget, which our kids will pay for, what has he done since taking office?
