    Hi Goldbear, so you believe they should have gunned the protestors down, perhaps once they breached the first barrier?

    every situation is case by case judgement. which is why no sane person would ever be in US police - because its so stacked against them

    lawyers come in 4 years later with no guns to their heads saying ' dont you think you should have acted differently'.

    my underlying point is that there is NO failproof one size fits all assumed way of dealing with such a situation

    once a skirmish breaks down into individual contact points - then its on each law enforcement/security officer to use their best judgement

    but what Im also saying is that - in the US - anyone who is breaking the law - especially those demonstrating physical violence - are 100% at risk of death

    they may think they are only doing property damage

    but there is no way for a security person to know if that is where it ends
