This was interesting, Moderna powered its trial for a primary enpoint based around the lower confidence interval reaching the MCWE rather than an average effect size of X. This is a much smarter way to go as how Rx effects are evaluated anyway. Then you can say there is a 95% chance that the worst case scenario is our minimal effect size is still worthwhile.
