As mentioned in my post last week, gas units on report will b lower as they've increased Mud Weight. This is std. procedure, to keep the well under control from taking a gas/water kick.
Gas-show reporting is std protocol whilst drilling.
If the gas ain't coming from the formation, then one needs a very fertile imagination to create such numbers.
BTW, gas is recorded real time, so everytime they hit a SST interval, its termed as a drill-break & a corresponding gas peak is recorded on the Chromatograph after 30-40 min of lagtime for the gas to come to surface from 11175'. This gas is also broken down into C1, C2 etc.
All this info is recorded by the mudlogging personnel deployed for realtime data collection by the Operator.
