So if you are Elon Musk what do you do?
1. Go to Livent, SQM or ALB who can wait for a better deal, and will demand better pricing.
2. Go to the opposite end of the pipeline and prop up some of the smaller guys to create some pricing competition.
Tesla is not a dummy they know Livent, SQM and ALB would rather have the market to themselves and set prices much higher.
