Ivermectin is a anti helminth, with very similar properties to MPL. In relation to killing Covid 19 it’s an important armamentarium . MPL has mTOR inhibition properties whereas Ivermectin doesn’t.

Ivermectin stimulate the immunostimulatory properties of the body by altering the function of T lymphocytes in particular T helper lymphocytes. These T helper cells are most important in adaptive immunity ( acquired immunity) . The T helper cells activate B cells to secrete anti bodies and macrophages to destroy ingested microbes. Ivermectin also activates cytoxic T cells to kill the infected target cells. Think of it like an Army with all specialised regiments rounding up the virus with the SAS to do most of the killing.

So, once the Ivermectin has killed off the virus ( in this instance ) the adaptive immune system recognises the virus very quickly, ensures a similar battle plan and the body tends to recognise this for possibly seventeen years. Thus the reason we require boosters every so often.

So, Ivermectin and possibly MPL has a place in this world war.
