If you take the last reported short position for MESO in the US and then add the latest figures from Shortman, which show as of the 6th January, the short position for MSB is 9.92% ...the combined total is over 12.5%....which makes Mesoblast the second most shorted stock on the ASX, by my calculation . The last 48 hours may well have resulted in a massive exercise to stop the share price running so maybe it has risen above 15%?
It may sometimes appear as though the shorters are always in control , but at these sort of percentages the stock lend starts to get pretty tricky...one big institutional buyer pops his head up and a massive bear squeeze can ensue.
The shorters no doubt are praying for as bad CLBP readout...otherwise they are in deep doo doo !

The regular postings of passers by......talking complete garbage is just a further sign that the shorters are nervous. They cant afford to let the price rip...and with a dual listing I suspect that converting Aussie stock to ADS with J P Morgan could be tricky to effect delivery. I remember last time the US price spiked like today I was offered 17% to lend my physical stock. I refused but they just managed to cover themselves in time.
