Are the lower population growths an example of over consumption?
Is this low rate of growth going to have systemic impacts at a socio-economic level in the next few decades? The population is not even replicating itself.
If so, what are these impacts and how is the population status (growth and health) going to be influenced?
Japan for instance is clearly reliant on immigration should it be interested in sustainble economic conditions (aging population etc).
