We have done a bl**dy good job of blasting, building and bitumining over this beautiful continent of ours over the last 220 years. Open your eyes and look about you, for Gawd's sake. See a mute confusion of bricks, bitumen, fibro, tin and concrete? Well, maybe it's beautiful to your eyes. Each to his own. But for mine we have created such a goddam mess. Destroyed or mindlessly altered nearly everything we have touched. Exotica d'rigeur, with the witless acts of the Acclimatisation Societies of the Nineteenth Century starting the ball rolling; their modern day apologists continuing to wreak havoc today. The chaos and confusion we have created no doubt reflects our underlying personas....we haven't a clue why we're here and we have no idea where we're going. And as for Man's dominion over the Earth and all its lesser creatures... just a sick sad joke. So, bravo, Sir Richard! (Oops, it's Sir David isn't it. Got the wrong movie star)
