If I were “not a trader” but proposed a buy-sell-buy approach to “tak(e) a small profit”, personally I’d want to be sure the trade fees and CGT which may be implicit in that approach make the approach worth doing. But you may have a different take on all of that. Not “advice” at all - just my view of what I’d want to consider (but then I’ve been “in” for a good few years now).
