Sorry but I don't have the same faith in politicians that you do. To me what is likely to happen is that they will make a determination of what serves their interests best and then vote accordingly. Of course they will say they considered the "evidence".

So bring on the court trials if there is any real evidence, at least there is some hope the judges will act impartially.
