But there isn't anything to drip feed. Tyro gives weekly transactions volumes every week since Mar'2020. Last update did not show a big decrease (even though 3 days in that week are impacted by this issue).
They gave one more up-to-date transaction value on 13th Jan. Assuming the issue started on 5th Jan evening (some speculate even before) then below table includes 6 full days of impact. But yet the transaction value is 3% more than last year. This matches closely with the provided information that ~15% terminals are impacted (assuming their growth is around 15 to 20% a year).
Monday's transaction report will show some more reduction in transaction volumes compared to above table (for the transaction values lost for dates 13th Jan to 15th Jan) and probably will show growth between +1% to -2%.
I believe they are throwing all the resources at fixing the issue. I believe they are as transparent as a company can be.
I guess all they can do is come out again and re-iterate the impact (hopefully with progress and how they are going to help merchants). This announcement will be the key and hopefully the information provided will be easy to understand.
