That is why I said in the 80's and 90's.
Just as an add on,the existence of negative gearing did to a very large extent drive the property boom amongst smaller investors. The negative gearing which was propelled by depreciation allowances greatly enhanced the serviceability of investors who in turn out bid each other and definitely outbid the people looking for a home.
