@noomxx I noticed in your earlier post you castigated another poster for not accepting broker estimates, but then immediately afterwards you (correctly, in my view) said that broker targets are easily gamed.
However I think the distinction you are drawing between broker's earnings forecasts and share price targets - saying the former is more accurate than the latter - is a little naive in my view. I operate under the assumption that both can be easily tinkered with and both should probably be viewed as "political".
That said, although I take both with a grain of salt, I find that a 'true' consensus is more informative, provided it is not selective about what is included. Commsec (which is my platform too) is unfortunately a bit of a joke, the 'consensus' section looks to be based on 3 brokers.
When I can be bothered, I will try and round up as many broker SP targets I can find at the same point in time and average this out. I would do EPS instead, but these are usually behind the paywall, which narrows the field down a bit. Bear in mind that I am a LT holder so I'm not actually doing anything with this information, it's just for my own curiosity more than anything.
