How did you work that out?? The shorts for yesterday has not even been released yet.
Your numbers look wrong.
According to the above chart, on the 4 days of high shorts, a total of 1.75% was short sold which is around 11.5m shares.
Total sales on those days was around 42m; thus the shorts were 27% of sales.

A number of those would have been bought back the same or later days; every large, liquid stock has a reasonable % of sales from short term traders (and bots) using shorts.

You cant just blame shorts for the drop, 30m shares sold in 4 days by holders (not shorters) is huge for this stock.

Directors have alot to answer for here, imo. I would expect ASIC to be having a close look at the lack of disclosure and directors sales.
