    Wink,

a very interesting statement you make which affects us all to a lesser or greater extent.

    You say

" 'Tis weird, Can Nail it with analysis, but when I pit myself against myself on the markets... for some reason I choose to lose. "

    The psychological aspect of trading.

The analysis/theory of the trade, paper trading, looking at charts with hindsight and then the real thing..... moving on to actual trading with real money in real time at the hard right hand end of the chart.

It tends to do our heads in, and yes we somehow "choose to lose" as you put it.

There are a number of books dealing with this very important, but often neglected aspect of trading, and reading some of those would be of benefit.

A good one to start on :

Dr Harry Stanton a Hobart based psychologist who has worked with a lot of share traders wrote a book in 1997 called "LET THE TRADE WINS FLOW" ( ISBN 0-646-34122-7 )
I learned of it shortly after he wrote it but couldn't find it in any of the bookshops so I tracked him down and phoned him in Hobart and obtained a copy from him direct.

I eventually did see the book on the shelves in some of the bookshops in Melb that specialise in share/trading books.
I have also since seem him at the traders expo in Melb where I attended one of his lectures.
But that was a few years ago now,so I don't know if he is still practising and /or the book is still available.
But if you can, the book is worth getting and reading..several times...In fact as a result of your post and my recent performance, I'm reminded of the book and am going to read it again.

    G'luck

    Cheers

    Bendigo
