Just wanted to get some expert views on a few things:
1. people keep talking about gold price linked to usd yield curves etc but I don’t understand why it matters whether usd bonds are 0.5% or 1% why would someone decide not to invest in gold or the gold sector due to 0.5% difference. Is this just the New York suits thinking they know everything or is there substance to this? My view is the former but happy to be corrected.
2. What is the real impact if gold goes to say $2200 usd but the usd drops and say the price of gold in aud stays the same. Does this mean we have the same revenue? Looking at fwd hedges they are in aud. How about unhedged sales assume these are in aud too.
Very comfortable holding ALK with great prospects and solid management but keen to get some views on this. Thx in advance.
