It doesn't matter what share it is - APT or FMG or Tesla - to get epic results like this is like trying to get a free diving record. The deeper you go the higher the pressure and anxiety to give up and go back. It is often every few minutes when the market is open that you have to reconsider the metrics of the business and your thesis. I ask myself, is the thesis intact? Is the business still growing enough? Is my fear based on emotion or something rational?

If you look at FMG they've been incredibly focused and consistent at doing the obvious and simple things well (pay down debt from startup, scale, manage relationship with China) but people act day to day like it's either great or stuffed.

I'm guilty of selling once or twice but it wasn't because I was emotional; I thought China was stock pilling ore to cut us off for a month or two to crash the price. I was wrong and then the Vale production update came out so i was back into fmg. New info equals a new stock and a new decision. Most ppl can't rebuy 20% higher a day or so later, now my profit is 2 x on FMG vs doing nothing.

So for what it's worth, the mentality I've used to get results like that:
1 Measure the business (or the technicals) not the media sentiment.
2 recheck your thesis
3 Ignore the noise
4 repeat.

Kudos to any early fmg holders who must have followed similar steps based on earlier foresight of how great FMG might be one day. we're not even half way up IMO if they get green energy and steel going.
