Getting the profit figure wrong is a significant, and disappointing, mistake by NST. It can only erode the confidence which shareholders are entitled to have in senior management.
Some acknowledgement of the mistake at this morning’s conference call would have been desirable, particularly if it came from Bill Beament as the person who authorised the original announcement for release to the ASX. The absence of any reference to the mistake simply exacerbates my concern.
