tunneling job at kainantu begins

THE underground work at Kainantu gold project in Eastern Highlands is a major part of construction work currently underway at the mine site, project manager with Highlands Pacific Ltd, Greg DeRoss said yesterday.
Addressing a mining luncheon at Crown Plaza in Port Moresby, Mr DeRoss said the construction phase is "ramping" up and the road development is well advanced.
"The construction phase consists of a number of parts mainly the underground work and rehabilitation of the underground work has commenced."
A process plant, office facilities, accommodation, tailings, a storage facility, a bridge build over Ramu River and the access road that is been built by Curtain Brothers towards the Lae-Madang Highway are evidence of actual work taking place at the Kainantu project.
