IMHO, the announcement definitely did say something new. First quarter results are now probably in the lower range of expectations rather than just possibly in the lower range of estimates.
Also, BLY dropped 20% compared to an all ords drop of 2.4%, broke the upward trend, broke down through support at 15 cents, and volume was significant. That's a lot more than just "a bit off" donga.
It's all about timeframe. If you have a timeframe of years, today probably won't turn out to be that important. If your timeframe is days/weeks/months, then I don't believe the same can be said honestly.
