That's pittance in terms of a carbon footprint.
The average adult tree can consume up to 20 tons of carbon per year so you are talking less than 4000 trees to offset our carbon footprint.
There is also a fantastic company here called the Aboriginal Carbon Fund or something. Basically the fella's do careful pre-season burn offs to prevent the fuel load from growing too much and the difference between what is burned and what would normally burn is deducted to create a carbon sink. It also helps the ranger groups a lot too. So if management ever wanted to support an Indigenous group, they are a good one to look at and admittedly, you don't have to wait 20 years for Tree's to hit maturity before they are pulling enough carbon out of the atmosphere to offset.
