Apparently I posted this in the wrong thread though I was responding to another poster so I thought as you have referred to it I should move it to here being unsure as to where it will be permitted. If you make a study of Hot Copper as I have you will find that it is set up on a conflict model. It is perceived as being the best way to generate content having people engage in unintelligent even hostile debate. It is a common social media technique for increasing traffic.

When I first came onto the Brainchip thread I was trolled and ridiculed and then I had a post modified. Over a three week period I pursued the correctness of the modification and eventually after a lot of wasted time communicated with someone sufficiently up the chain to have it acknowledged that the post was incorrectly removed and it was reinstated. The parting words of this person though led to my continued presence on this thread. His parting response was that I needed to 'dumb down' my posts and that if I did not do so I would have to expect this outcome.

Well I had spent the whole of my working and community life from age 18 to 68 years of age not dumbing down anything and educating people about a vast range of subjects under the laws of Australia and the promotion of children's sport and had always embraced a lifting up approach and in multiple settings it had always proven to be effective.

Even my immediate competitors in the practice of the law came on board and we shared information for the common good and the good of our clients but it required me to be the first to freely offer cases and thoughts that might assist their particular legal issues so I have set about proving here to the extent that I could that platforms like this can be used for this purpose and still remain popular and generate traffic at levels at least as great as the conflict models. Fortunately my success in my areas of expertise made my offer of free advice valuable and wanted and as they saw I was not taking any advantage from the situation they came on board.

The fact that we have had a number of long term watchers make their first posts today has emboldened me to post this story here as of all the threads that I watch on Hot Copper this Brainchip one is now the most friendly, supportive and educational. Positivity and openness begets positivity and openness.

Once again I do not know if this is the correct thread but here goes:

I personally disagree. External negativity is as dangerous as hype perhaps more so. We all have self doubt and that is sufficient to modify and control our decision making it is part of our genetic make up which is the survival instinct.We all are suggestible and having a constant negative input plays on our normal healthy level of scepticism and interferes with our capacity for rational thought in moments of pressure.Imagine a combat unit going into battle with every second member of the group saying were all gunna die this is a mistake.Raising questions that cause an individual concern, the what if questions, if you like, is appropriate but constant negative statements do absolutely nothing to assist.Henry Lawson wrote a poem about the complete waste of space the perpetually negative man is as he cry’s “we will all be ruined”.
