I'm unsure if you're posting here in good faith, but I'll reply as though you are.

The DLE proposed by Lake has never been done at commercial scale in the history of the lithium industry. Benchtop tests commonly bring success that can't be done to scale.

Some will tell you that Livent does DLE. Joe Lowry worked for them and stated that they don't. It's a hybrid process involving ponds, which means it's likely that Livent must start from a much higher purity point than Lilac is using.
Livent's initialy purity is at 700+ mg/L of lithium.
Orocobre has struggled immensely with quality standards at 690mg/L.
What is Lake's purity?

To put it simply, it is likely that Lake will be producing industrial grade lithium at a significant discount unless they can get this technology to work at scale for the first time, ahead of billion dollar competitors. So they need to attract $500mill USD for a plant that will likely produce industrial lithium.

I hope DLE works, and I hope LKE succeeds, but the risk is extreme and well outside my comfort zone.

Incidentally, DLE only makes initial time to production faster. Once a pond system is already established, DLE saves no time (as far as I'm aware).
