That is very specific ... I believe he/she is referring to the massive short squeeze applied to Melvin Capital (a long/short hedge fund) which required a bailout and probably the next one to fail is Maplelane.

The most stock over which this has occurred in is an old school mall retailer called Gamestop ... IMO a business that is doomed (and likely why the Hedge funds bet big on shorting it)

Have you heard of "Robinhood" and r/wallstreetbets .... these are retail investor focused who have got the you know what's with short sellers .... so they "bail in" and drive the price up ... in Gamestop its gone up ... a lot

Worse still ... shorts are ~150% of issued stock .... oh dear.

Then there are the options aspect ... which is all about "Delta Hedging" (done by the dealers) and Gamma ... which I'm doubting that the Supa fund Manager discussed.

Net Net ... don't think any of that has anything to do with PLL.

Thanks for your reply - options out of the money was mentioned, wondering how we get a handle of the level of shorting by stock.
