I'm not sure if it's going to drive direct revenue but it would be an amazing way to further integrate Afterpay into society by offering an Afterpay savings account.
I don't think it'll reduce credit costs to be honest (I think you're refering to funding costs?) because this will still be Westpac and the deposits will sit within Westpac. Afterpay doesn't have a banking license and I honestly cannot think of a reason why Afterpay would want to take on the regulatory burden of owning a banking license. It'll instantly lock up fast amounts of capital to protect depositors. APT is doing the right thing imo by partnering with the banks.
