I first started work in a Government lab in Qld in 1960. The Chief Chemist had 2 degrees, a Science Degree and an Education degree (They were worth something then). He died relatively young. He complained at the time that if he had his way he would be a plumber - they made more money.
Nothing new in your complaint. However would you really like to do some of the really ***** stuff they do?
