Sure the stimulus payments went into the pokies. I said this as it was happening but got ridiculed by Dave and his mates.
Now it seems they seek to give a positive spin to money being poured into pokie machines.
I can tell you, that with our families sole break winner working in a QLD RSL club, the pokies have been doing just fine thanks to Rudds handouts. The same cannot be said for the food and beverage Departments of sporting clubs that have suffered a downturn despite the pokies getting plenty of Rudds dollars.
Charitable donations to local organisations are not a sole function of the money spent on pokies. The Clubs also need to make a profit on food and beverage to maintain their community support.
