Along with many of you I have been most excited in recent months by the advancement of the Oman Copper Project, however with silver being all the rage at present I have been looking a little deeper into the Halls Peak Base Metals project which could turn out to be an unexpected gem of an asset for this co.
The previous Geo working on Halls Peak described the project aspossibly being “a typical SEDEX style base metal province, similar inoccurrence and prospectivity to the world class deposits of northernQueensland, which include Mt Isa, Hilton, George Fisher, Cannington, Centuryand McArthur River base metal mines”.
Most of the info here comes directlyfrom the 4CE company website, which is a great summary of the project and itspotential.
Highlights
- 3 ExplorationLicences in north-eastern NSW (EL4474, EL5339, EL7679) cover all known areas ofmineralisation; 132 square kilometres. EL 4474 and EL 5339: Force Commodities holds 100%, EL 7679: Force Commodities holds 55% in JV company.
- Right geological setting, Halls Peak base metal province locatedin an area of historic high grade massive sulphide mines over an area of 4 x5km
- Several shallow, small high grade DSO massive sulphide bodiesalready discovered
- Major miners consider Halls Peak has potential to host a largebase metal deposit
- Flat lying VTEM conductor around the old Sunnyside Mine fits atypical SEDEX deposit model. Consultant Geophysicists interpret this conductorto host sulphides
- Main conductor setting is analogous to McArthur River Deposit(227Mt ore); Several other continuous, flat lying conductors
- Geotech Consultants (the developers of the VTEM technology used)interpret the Halls Peaks Spike Island Anomaly to be similar the Caber DepositCanada
- $90,500 granted in NSW Government New Frontiers CooperativeDrilling Program. Provides 50 per cent of costs to test potential for largemassive sulphide deposits

High grade Silver mineralisation
As mentioned, DSO potential for this asset appearsto be very real, with high grade sulphide bodies already discovered ator near surface. Please note the Ag grade is in ounces - i.e. Faints Mine lode is approx 4000t at 2,550 g/t Ag (90oz/t)
I’m not a geo, but what I’ve found quite interesting isthe deeper target picked up by the VTEM in 2013. The reprocessing of the VTEM data from Halls Peak Base Metal Province byCD3D clearly demonstrated two electrically conductive beds, with the deep bedinterpreted as extending up to 1,500 metres depth. “Mapping to these depthsstrongly suggests continuity of the deep electrically conductive horizonbetween previously isolated districts, including the Long Point area, the HallsPeak area, and the Raspberry Road area.” “Should this deep electricallyconductive bed be produced by base metal mineralisation, the reinterpretation opensup potential for very extensive deep mineralisation throughout this province.”
From what I can see this target has never been drilltested at depth, and which may be host to a significant base metals resource including high grade silver.
Given the above and the larger market dynamics it certainlywould be an exciting time for the company to fast-track exploration and ascertainthe feasibility of DSOing some of this very high-grade material.
