As stated people typically quote silicon around 20%+ But, and it is a big but, this is for perfect lab condition lighting. Which means bright and direct. This kind of light doesnt practically exist in the real world, and even where it does, its only for a few hours a day. So on top of the expensive silicon cells, you have to add "tracking" machinery, bulky machines that you mount the cells on that turn throughout the day.
DSC however, does not need direct or bright sunlight, it works in any conditions, even indoors under fluro lights. Hence all day operation without tracking machines even in cloudy Wales. It is a totally different ball game and comparing them is frankly not useful.
