'Baseload' is a term from the past with 'on demand' currently replacing it because that's where we are heading and fast with batteries being rapidly deployed and virtual power stations replacing the old 20th century coal and gas relics.
Nuclear power using thorium would be an option and even better fusion which seems to be very close.
There's also the abundance of heat from radiation to be tapped from places like the Cooper Basin with enough energy to easily power Australia on its own.
Coal and gas are relics of the past that need to be repurposed or left where they are.
