Why would I buy into the spp at 90 cents on no new price positive news when I could have bought at under 70 cents only a couple of weeks ago?

No new developments, no new major shareholder, no new strategic partner, no new major government grant...

I expect many of the juniors are worried that the markets are due to crash again and are trying to raise capital now before things get grim again.
