I have read a bit about this case (some time ago) and I believe they did it - but I'm really a long way from the facts so it's just my opinion. Circumstantially they look to be guilty - they have admitted to certain facts which are related to the case and I recall that a commercial pilot was used - the dead brother was a pilot. They were also involved in an earlier gold nugget scam that I think they were found guilty of - their mother was a party. None of this prooves anything but they are certainly not lilly-whites.

It's a bit like the OJ simpson case - the acts of a policeman cloud the issue - I don't think that the fact that a confession was fabricated necessarily means that they were innocent.

It's a fascinating story.
