it's not a 50% tax on your gains if you sell before 12 months. if you do sell prior to 12 months then your gains will be added to your income at 100% and then your total income is taxed at the appropriate bracket. if you sell after 12 months then only 50% of your gains are added to your income. The tax thing can play with some peoples heads but a lot of the time with small caps you are better off selling and saving your profits rather than to risk losing them all..
