Fluff.....I am from the bush and have always thought that...
But, the thing is we are getting constantly inundated with news, opinions and stories about topics we do not really care that much about or agree with. Climate change is obviously one which is of interest but the ABC go away over the top and really only cover one side of the argument , although it is the major side ..... but they try and tie it in with just about any news or general interest story !
Aboriginal rights is another one which is obviously a big issue but the ABC want to make us all cower down and grovel and be responsible for the sins of our ancestors. They even give Airtime to Aboriginal activists that really want a new societal order and sugfest a move right away from capitalism or even formal systems of government. The promotion of veganism is another one where the ATC is distancing most of it's rural audience.
Many issues that are really only of import to the Urbane Metropolitan types the ABC promote, and probably the biggest which is a total disconnect with their main audience is the LGBT agenda and pushing for services for people who have had a sex change and live in remote Australia....as in there is hundreds isnt there?
I think that we would find the services that rural and remote Australia really value about the ABC are about 3% of their total budget, that being ABC rural and regional radio network.
